Talking, And Listening, To Loved Ones About Suicide

An Anglican minister who lost his father to suicide last year believes social media is a great way to generate conversation around mental illness.

Reverend Robert Cooke is speaking out about a great personal loss in his own life in hopes of helping other men recognize and deal with depression.

He says there are some good initiatives in place, but sometimes you just need to listen.

He says he thinks social media is one way to open up the conversation and some great work has been done. Cooke says just being attentive to people in your lives that may be showing signs of mental illness.
