Let’s Get Moving Newfoundland and Labrador!

June 5th, 2018

Late yesterday, federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) ministers responsible for sport, physical activity and recreation released Canada’s first ever singular policy focused on physical activity and sedentary living called, A Common Vision for Increasing Physical Activity and Reducing Sedentary Living in Canada: Let’s Get Moving (Common Vision). This policy document is intended to guide and stimulate coordinated and collaborative policies and actions to increase physical activity and to reduce sedentary living among all Canadians across their lifetime.

A lack of physical activity and increased sedentary living is a critical public health issue affecting all Canadians. The Common Vision will help to address this by building on current policies, frameworks and strategies already in place related to sport, recreation and healthy living, while advancing new and emerging approaches in policies and programming.

I encourage you to click here to read the Common Vision. You may also access a suite of creative communication assets (Executive Summary, Facebook posts, Web Banners, FAQ’s and Key Messages) to assist you in promoting the Common Vision to your network.
