The New Marijuana Legislation: Weeding Out our Safety Concerns

August 14th, 2018

A discussion forum event on cannabis and its impact on safety presented by Safety NL.

Safety NL is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the health and safety of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians at work, at home, and on the road. This summer, Safety NL hosted a Master of Public Health student whose project was to compile a report detailing how the upcoming cannabis legalization will affect health and safety in this province. To present our findings, we are hosting a discussion forum event about cannabis and safety.

Our goal is to create a space for individuals to discuss and learn about the health and safety concerns associated with cannabis. The event will begin with a presentation of our student’s research, followed by a panel discussion with representatives from various stakeholder groups, such as the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Workplace NL, etc.

Admission to this event is free and is open to anyone with an interest in learning about cannabis and its impact on safety.
